Happiness… because it saves me while in the process of creating the artwork. For example I lose sense of time, it helps me focus on something else for a while.
Were you always an artist, even as a child? What was your path to becoming an artist?
I enjoyed drawing cartoons as a kid and I just kept going.
What is your medium of choice and what drew you to this particular medium?
My medium of choice is water colors…. they have the ability to dry quickly and they are portable. Acrylic comes in second. I have always loved the spread-ability of acrylic paints and the thicker the better.
Is there any particular experience, person, place, or thing that inspires you to create? Tell us about that.
Creating is my outlet, it is my therapy. Being creative keeps me learning, like new techniques.
What is it like showing your work to people and what do you hope people take away from it?
Sharing my artwork boosts my confidence and gives me motivation.
What advice do you have for other artists who may be looking to get their work exhibited?
The advice I would give other artists is be authentic, just be yourself. Also compete only with yourself.
